About Time to Thrive
Because every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
Time to Thrive was created from a simple belief: education should be about more than remembering facts and completing worksheets. Children are naturally curious, capable and full of potential, and I believe learning should give them opportunities to explore that potential in ways that feel meaningful, enjoyable and relevant to their lives.
As a trained primary school teacher, I’ve seen first-hand that children don't all learn in the same way. What works brilliantly for one child may not work for another, which is why I’m passionate about creating learning experiences that move beyond a one-size-fits-all approach.
Learning that sticks
I have a particular interest in child psychology, memory and how children learn, and this has shaped the way I approach education. I want children to do more than simply learn something for a test and then forget it. I want learning to stick.
For me, this means giving children opportunities to talk, question, create, move, problem-solve and apply what they are learning. Learning becomes much more memorable when children can connect it to something they already know, something they care about, or something happening in the real world.
That's why our activities are designed to be hands-on, practical and purposeful, wherever possible. We love turning maths into real-life challenges, writing into opportunities to express ideas, and learning into something children can actually do.
Learning about the world around us
Education shouldn't exist in isolation from the world children live in.
Our learning is often inspired by fun, interesting and important topics, from seasonal events and celebrations to real-world issues and opportunities to explore different cultures, people and ideas.
Our monthly Brain Boosting Boxes bring this approach directly into children's homes. Each box has a different theme and combines educational activities with creativity, problem-solving, hands-on challenges and opportunities for children to think independently.
The aim isn't simply to keep children busy. It's to give them something to wonder about, talk about, create and remember.
Small-group tutoring
Alongside our educational boxes, Time to Thrive offers small-group tutoring for up to four children.
Keeping groups small allows us to create a supportive learning environment where children can participate, ask questions, share ideas and learn from one another, while still receiving individual attention and guidance.
Our sessions focus on building academic skills alongside something just as important: confidence. We want children to feel comfortable making mistakes, trying again, asking for help and celebrating their progress.
Where possible, learning is connected to real-life situations, practical challenges and engaging topics, helping children understand not just what they are learning, but why it matters.
More than learning — helping children thrive
At Time to Thrive, success isn't only about getting the right answer.
It's about developing curiosity, confidence, independence, resilience and a love of learning. It's about helping children recognise their strengths, understand that mistakes are part of learning, and feel proud of the progress they make.
Whether a child is exploring a new topic through a Brain Boosting Box or working alongside others in a small tutoring group, our goal is the same:
To create learning experiences that children enjoy, remember and carry with them beyond the classroom.
Because education isn't just about helping children achieve today.
It's about giving them the skills and confidence to thrive tomorrow. 🌱
